Urban-Ready OPV: 120-Module Façade Now Powering the FAU Campus
New organic photovoltaic (OPV) demonstrator now energizes the campus—delivered by FAU, ASCA, and HI-ERN under the EU BOOSTER project, with support from the Solar TAP.
The installation showcases a 35 m² OPV façade that blends architecture with clean power. ASCA manufactured 120 OPV modules, arranged in three independently monitored strings. Oriented vertically, the façade produces electricity from roughly 7:00 to 20:00, highlighting OPV’s promise for urban integration and sustainable design.
